This week at Camp Maripai has been oh so eventful already - and full of ROCK! Our all-camp activities were a two-day "Rock Fight" where campers and counselors lip sync to the music of their favorite songs! This year we had "Thriller," "What is Love," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," "Roar," and more.

We also have Free Choice every Monday where the girls can learn line dancing and salsa as well as participate in a number of other activities, like Bottle Rocket Launches, Nature Hikes, and Facepainting. Here are some pictures of our week so far!

These last few weeks have, as always, been lovely here at Camp Maripai. We had not only a dance party, but also a carnival right on the lodge porch - complete with cotton candy machine!

Our counselors even got in on the fun and dressed up with the girls.

We had a lovely end to our two-week session here at Maripai, ending with one of our favorite activities: the BANQUET! The ladies of the camp made their own decorations to follow with the Magical Mayhem theme - and did it in style if WE are any judge - and the Administrative Staff still has the paper Chepi flying in our office.

This past week at Camp Maripai was an active one indeed! During the week, as usual, our campers participated in horse riding lessons, archery lessons, and, of course, canoeing! But the highlight of this week was undeniably the unit-lead All-Camp Olympics.

During this event, each unit took to planning and setting up an activity/event for the rest of the campers. They earned gold, silver, and bronze medals and had a BLAST!

Here are some pictures of the festivities:

Week 3 at Camp Maripai is off to a WINDY start! But we're having a blast

Thursday, June 12, 2014

This week of camp has been a very exciting week at camp! For the first time in seven years, campers are back it on the canoes! Canoeing has teaches them communication skills, patience, and teamwork.

Campers have been participated in activities against bullying. Here the girls are "talking behind each others back" but what they are really are doing is writing compliments about each other. (:

Summer camp isn't complete with a few arts and crafts!

In a circle of friends activity campers express the importance of being a good friend and sister to one another.

And here we have some counselors being goofy!
